GPRN dubs ‘clashes’ report mischievous

CHRONICLE BUREAU
IMPHAL, 6th Oct: While dismissing the news report about clashes between the NSCN-IM and Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) in Peren district of Nagaland as speculative, the Government of the People’s Repulic of Nagalim (GPRN) described the report as mischievous and act of irresponsibility exercised by the Indian security agencies.
Reacting to the report published in the October 6 edition of the local media, a GPRN statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity on Sunday contended that the report was aimed at ‘giving a wrong picture of the ground reality in Nagaland’.
“In recent period, there is no heavy clashes/fighting of any kind anywhere in Nagaland involving NSCN. It is however, understood that Indian security establishment sources is trying to project NSCN in bad light and thus feeding wrong information to the news agencies to misguide the Home Ministry, Government of India. Such a report on Nagaland not supported by authenticity is best avoided in future,” the statement said.
