Drugs worth Rs. 28 cr seized during joint raid

MOREH, 5th Oct: Based on specific inputs, troops of 43 Assam Rifles and Moreh police along with women police personnel raided a house at Moreh on Saturday noon and recovered different varieties of contraband drugs worth Rs 28 crore in the international market.
The recovered drugs include 5,04,000 pieces of WY tablets worth nearly Rs 15.12 crore in international market, 15.269 kg of Crystal Methamphetamine worth Rs 10.68 crore in international market, 2.206 kg of Ketamine worth Rs 2.18 crore and 194 bottles of cough syrup Phensedyl which would worth Rs 27,160. Some cash (Indian Rs 74150, Burmese Kyat 49,000) which were found hidden in a book of the house owner identified as Hahat Haokip (47) wife of Kamnik Haokip (Myanmarese) of Moreh Ward No 3 (Super Market) Phaicham Veng, Tengnoupal district were also seized.
All 5,04,000 pieces of WY tablets were found hidden at various places including wooden walls of the house while Crystal Methamphetamine (15.269kg) were hidden inside the bed and 2.206 kg Ketamine powder was found concealed on the roof of the house.
On questioning, the woman disclosed that the drugs belong to two ladies named Matazin and Namkhohat, both residents of Tamu, Myanmar.
