Party observers to oversee rebellion
IMPHAL, 4th Oct: Though the rift within the BJP government in the state seems to have been resolved following Wednesday’s meeting between state and central leaders of the party in the national capital, the final settlement would be brought in Imphal for which central leaders of the party would arrive here on October 7.
An informed source said that the media reports of settling the issue of replacing chief minister still lacks final touch and may be opened for consideration. BJP president Amit Shah, working president JP Nadda, general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and general secretary northeast in-charge Bhupendra Yadav had met chief minister N Biren, works minister Th Biswajit and state president of the party K Bhabananda in the national capital twice on September 29 and October 2.
Whether the issue was resolved in the meetings or not is not certain but the party leaders would be visiting Imphal in relation with the final settlement of the political crisis on October 7. Since nothing has been said by the central leaders, there are still possibilities of other dimensions in the final settlement which the party leaders have not disclosed yet.
Despite the final talks with the state leaders winding up, some of the dissident MLAs are still camping in the national capital ready to pursue their demand further since the central leaders are yet to say anything regarding the issue.
On the other hand, another source said that the BJP central leaders are likely to take some time and announce their decision on the issue by October 12.
