Political instability in state lingers on
IMPHAL, 3rd Oct: With the completion of ‘quizzing’ of ministers and MLAs of both the warring sides regarding the change of leadership in state BJP by central leaders, the over three months old political instability in the state has reached the stage akin to checking of answer script in examination and awaiting declaration of result.
After meeting BJP national president and Home minister Amit Shah, general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh, general secretary and NE in-charge Bhupendra Yadav on September 29, chief minister N Biren, works minister Th Biswajit and state BJP president Ksh Bhabananda separately met Amit Shah, BJP working president JP Nadda, BL Santosh again late Wednesday evening.
Though neither of the dissenting groups spoke openly to media on outcome of late night meetings with national leaders, some local dailies quoting their own sources reported that CM N Biren Singh has been directed to resolve the matter amicably. However, none could ascertain whether the report published in some local dailies were true or cooked one.
Meanwhile, a reliable source informed that ministers and MLAs of both the sides still camping in the national capital are holding deliberations after their meeting with the central leaders the previous night.
The source further informed that MLAs seeking change of leadership are still together and preparing to make a written submission to central leaders about their unchanged position.
