AMUCO aids in formation of NUCO
IMPHAL, 1st Oct: With the stated objective of strengthening the people’s movement as and when the state faces challenging situations and issues, All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) convened a meeting of various organisations active in between Khonghampat and Kangpokpi on September 29.
The meeting held at Khonghampat Awang Leikai community hall under theme of ‘unified movement for uniform development’ was attended by AMUCO vice president Koijam Helen, Meitei Union Sadar Hills general secretary Huirom Ningthem, Welfare Development Committee (Khonghampat) vice president Th Achou, Sekmai Protection Committee president Angom Rajesh and Western All Clubs’ Organisation president Sapam Rameshwar as presidium members.
After threadbare discussions on wide range of issues, the gathering unanimously endorsed formation of Northern United Clubs’ Organisation (NUCO) and nominated nine people as office bearers of the new body for the term 2019-2022.
Among others, the office bearers include H Ningthem and Th Johnson as president and general secretary respectively, according to a statement issued by AMUCO publicity secretary Brojen Irom.
