IMPHAL, 29th Sep: Asserting that proper and effective management of time is a must for development of a society, CAF&PD minister Karam Shyam encouraged youth and teens to practice the habit of wise and effective use of time in order to succeed in life and bring development in the society.
He was speaking as chief guest at the first moral awareness campaign organised by Mahatma Seva Ashram Konthoujam under the aegis of Shree Shree Balaji Foundation Manipur at the premises of the Ashram on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, the minister encouraged the youth to learn knowledge from everything that happens in their surroundings and in the society, and cultivate the good ones in order to become successful persons in any field. In the school too, teachers could reserve five minutes out of 45 minutes of a class for imparting moral education to the students and it would help in a great way in bringing developmental change in the society.
At the same time, knowing the value of time and imbibing the habit of wise use of time by proper and effective management is a must. In a bid to cultivate the habit of time management, he always put his best efforts in reaching on schedule time in every function or programme, the minister said while reiterating that time management is the key to success and development of the society. He also urged all to give up the tradition of so called ‘Meetei Pung’.
The minister further encouraged students to cultivate the habit of questioning themselves on their habits, behaviour and morality. Once they are able to bring out the right answer, they will know the value of life and time, and it will lead to success in their lives.
He also encouraged students to cultivate good habits and stay away from indulging in wasteful activities as well as strive to learn knowledge from outside the academic syllabus. Regarding the present trend of girls outperforming boys in academics, Karam Shyam said that girls have the ability to think deeper and it often put them ahead of their male counterparts when it comes to competitive examinations.
Yurembam ZP member Th Nilamani presided over the function while Konthoujam GP Pradhan H Manisana, Citizen Development Organisation Konthoujam advisor Dr N Sarat and Konthoujam Mamang Leikai Women’s Society president Ch Bimola attended as guests of honour.
