CM, works minister greet on Irabot Day
IMPHAL, 29th Sep: Chief minister N Biren and works minister Th Biswajit extended greetings on the occasion of Irabot Day. In his message, CM Biren hailed Irabot as a towering figure and multi-faceted personality. “He was a freedom fighter, politician and social activist par excellence, a versatile personality, a gifted poet and an accomplished scholar.” “Studies continue to unravel the sterling qualities of this great leader, his vision and the spirit of dedication to his land and people. His effort towards maintaining oneness and emotional integrity among people of different communities are still fondly remembered and people lovingly called him Lamyanba Irabot,” the CM said while calling all to take a pledge to follow the ideals of Irabot for a united and new Manipur. Meanwhile, Biswajit said that Irabot, a champion of the poor, a poet and a sportsman, led the historic Nupi Lan movement. He also called upon the people of the state to remember the values of the great leader and follow his footsteps to bring unity and peace in the society.
