JAC threatens to take Babysana case to SC
IMPHAL, 27th Sep: Peeved with the alleged government’s failure to hand over Babysana’s case to the CBI till date despite repeated appeals made, the JAC constituted against the suspicious death of the minor student has pledged to take the case to the Supreme Court to get fair justice.
On getting the information that bail hearing of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School principal Ph Landhoni and her daughter Romita will be held in Manipur High Court on Friday, JAC members protested outside the court complex. A police team came and kept the protesters away from the court complex.
After the court refused to bail, the protesters converged at Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai Pukhri Achouba Mapal where they along with students of different schools offered floral tributes to the photo of Babysana. Talking to media persons, JAC convener Laishram Gyaneshwori said that after the Chief Judicial Magistrate court rejected the bail plea sought by Landhoni and her daughter Romita who are currently in judicial custody, another bail plea in the Manipur High Court also got rejected.
Hailing Manipur High Court’s directive to refer the bail hearing to the District & Sessions Court, she cautioned against granting bail to all the five accused in the case and vowed to take the case to the apex court of the country to ensure justice to Babysana.
Gyaneshwori also pledged to continue launching various modes of agitation and offering of floral tributes to the portrait of the deceased girl till the case is handed over to the CBI to unearth the hidden truth behind the death which the state police have failed to do so despite taking much time.
