Five held with Rs 41 cr heroin, WY

IMPHAL, 24th Sep: The special cell of Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested three people with 10 kilograms of heroin while security forces stationed in Moreh town apprehended three persons and recovered huge quantities of World is Yours (WY) tablets from their possession.
The value of drugs seized in the national capital in the international market was estimated at Rs 40 crore, reported a news agency, adding that the contraband was seized from a SUV in Shalimar Bagh area by the special cell, the police said.
The accused have been identified as Riyaz Khan and Shakeel both from Manipur, and Shubhankar Haldhar, a resident of West Bengal. On the other-hand, a combined team of 12 Assam Rifles and Moreh commandos apprehended three individuals and seized 50,000 WY tablets worth Rs 1.5 crore in the international market from Khudengthabi check post on Tuesday around 12.50 pm. The three individuals have been identified as Pious Jamkhomang Mangchong (19) son of John Janglet Mangchong of Zoununom village, Helkhogin Mate (23) son of Onkholun Mate and Houkholet Touthang (36) son of Helkem Touthang both of K Moulsang village in Tengnoupal district. Apart from the WY tablets, security forces also seized one Kenbo bike (Myanmar made) and one Ntorq scooter from them.
The trio along with the seized items have been handed over to Moreh police station for further legal actions.
