UKHRUL, 23rd Sep: Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has appealed to the students, youth and entire Naga populace to show their support and participate in the upcoming mass peace rally to be staged in the national capital on September 25.
"We call upon all the Naga brethren to remain united in all aspects, be steadfast in upholding the people's movement by participating in this rally, which will commence at 2 pm from Mandi House and will conclude at Jantar Mantar," the apex Naga students' body said in a statement on Monday.
"History is witness to how the Nagas have fought valiantly as a proud nation and are continuing the fight against the oppressors to free Nagalim. Nagas have been gloriously waving our national flag across global platforms, towns and cities registering our determinate identity of being a nation. While instructing the inspection authorities to submit compliance report on fortnightly basis, the director’s order maintained that the transport department has neither approved any motor dealer for sale and service of LPG driven vehicles nor approved any variant/model of such types of vehicles in the state by way of grant of Trade Certificates.
Further stating that there are no authorised/licenced designated LPG refuelling stations in the state, the order also mentioned that decision to enforce the ban is based on reports about operation of LPG driven auto rickshaws manufactured by TVS Motor Company Limited, Hosur (Tamil Nadu) in Imphal city.
The said vehicles are being operated without proper documentations such as authority/licence for dealing in sales/services, trade licence and refuelling done with LPG which is a serious safety hazard and also gross violation of Motor Vehicles Act/rules, the order added.
