"Today, we are living in an era where the issue of gender imbalance abounds. Through this event, we intend to attach positive aspects of gender equality to the festival by giving adequate space to women and set an example for all, to help bring about a positive impact on gender sensitisation," Pamreiso Shimray said.

"The Miss Lily title will carry a crown of Huishon & Kongsang with total prize money of Rs 3 lakh. While Rs 2 lakh will be take-home cash, the remaining Rs 1 lakh is to be used for the cause of promotional events, including environmental awareness campaigns which would be implemented by the title holder during her tenure in consultation and collaboration with the organising committee," he announced.
He added that the title holder will also get a tour package to three states of North East, to undertake humanitarian activities among others, apart from a wildcard entry to some regional level beauty pageants.
