Single use plastics banned in Bishnupur

BPR, 21st Sep: Single use plastics and other plastic products below 50 microns have been banned in areas under the jurisdiction of Bishnupur Municipal Council with immediate effect.
Chairperson of the council L Maniyaima made the announcement during a social service camp organised ahead of the Swachhata Hi Seva observance under Swachh Bharat Mission organised by the council on Saturday. Councillors and members of ward development committees participated in the social service camp which was conducted in all the wards under the supervision of the council. Interacting with media persons, Maniyaima said that any shop found selling plastic bags below 50 microns and single use plastics will face Rs 2000 fine along with legal actions as per law.
