SYO celebrates raising day with sports meet
CCPUR, 21st Sep: Simte Youth Organisation (SYO) organised its 10th raising day cum sports meet at the organisation’s hall in Churachandpur district on Saturday. Addressing the inaugural function as chief guest, agriculture minister V Hangkhanlian stressed the need for unity amongst the various communities inhabiting the state and said that it is necessary to preserve one’s unity in spite of having diverse culture, language and identity.
Colours, looks and creed may not be the same but people of the state are all one, he said.
Many people have the belief that there will be lots of funds as BJP is in power at the Centre and that the state has a lot in its discretion. However that is not the case as fund distribution is based on certain criteria and it needs to be executed judiciously and equally.
Thanking the public for their support and electing him to the current position, he urged all to understand the limits in fulfilling their aspiration despite having the commitment to do so. SYO president Dongchunthang, who was the chief host of the programme, inaugurated the sports meet in the second session of the programme.
