Ranjita Sarkar to receive Kunjamohan Award

IMPHAL, 19th Sep: Ranjita Sarkar from West Bengal would be honoured with Nongthombam Kunjamohan Translation Award by Sahitya Thoupang Lup during the celebration of International Translation Day at JN Manipur Dance Academy here on September 30.
In a release, Lup secretary M Uttam Kumar informed that the award is to be given to Ranjita in recognition of her Manipuri Poetry translation work. So far, she has translated four books. The award comprises Rs 10,000 in cash, a shawl and a citation. During the celebration, a book edited by Brajakumar Sarkar and Saratchand Thiyam titled, “Swor Asthok” would also be released. The three-day long celebration would be attended by renowned poets from different states, the release added.
