Public meet on Sep 20
IMPHAL, 16th Sep: Accusing the government of remaining silent despite chief minister’s assurance to mount pressure on the CBI to accept investigation of Babysana’s case, the JAC formed against the death of Ningthoujam Babysana has convened a public meeting on Friday to discuss further course of agitation. In statement, the JAC strongly condemned the government for not doing enough for transferring the case to the CBI. It informed that the JAC has suspended its agitation till Thursday in honour of the appeal made by Governor Dr Najma Heptulla during a meeting with the JAC members. However, the JAC will take up further course of agitation if no significant development is made by the government to fulfil their demand, the statement said while adding that Friday’s public meeting would be held at THAU Ground at 1 pm.
