Two looters arrested, yet another victim robbed

MOREH, 14th Sep: Acting on reports of multiple robbery incidents along Imphal-Moreh Highway since the past few days, Moreh police arrested two suspects, who are believed to be involved in these robberies.
Informing this to media persons, SP (Tengnoupal) Th Vikramjit said that the district police started investigation following reports of multiple robbery incidents along the highway and managed to round up two suspects on Friday night.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Letkhosat Lupho (27) son of Paojathang Lupho and Hemkhomang Baite (29) son of Ngamjathhang. Further investigation is going on to nab all those involved in the robberies, he said.
On the other hand, robbery continued along the highway on Saturday with two gunmen robbing Rs 21,000 cash from driver of a Tata DI near Moreh College gate around 6.30 pm.
Saturday’s incident is the fifth case of robbery to have occurred in the border town. Civilians, especially traders are feeling insecure while travelling along the highway following the series of robbery incidents. The victim driver, while expressing concern over the increasing incidents of robbery, urged all not to stop their vehicles if any unknown persons tried to stop them on the road and stay alert to avoid such incidents.
