CM raised no state issues at NEDA meet, claims MLA
IMPHAL, 11th Sep: During the NEDA meet at Guwahati on September 9, chief minister N Biren Singh did not raised any issues of the state including CAB and this proves that he is not fit to be the leader of the state, alleged a senior BJP MLA.
The MLA who refused to be named and currently camping at New Delhi to lobby central leaders for change of leadership in the state BJP-led coalition government informed that chief ministers of other North East states raised CAB and ILP issues at the NEDA meet chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma raised CAB and ILP issues and made their observations at the meet but it was very unfortunate for the people of Manipur that CM Biren skipped the serious issue. Due the gravity of the situation when people of Manipur launched intense agitation against CAB, the chief minister himself sponsored a delegation of political parties and pressed upon the Union home minister. However, CM Biren did not uttered a word on CAB at the NEDA meet which indeed was a great loss for the people of Manipur, the MLA said adding that letting Biren to hold the current post further would be great loss for the state. It is unfair for a man who has been reduced to minority to remain as a leader in democracy but N Biren Singh continues to be leader forcibly and this indeed contradicts the real meaning of democracy, the MLA observed. Reacting to media reports that political issue within state BJP would end and there will be no change of leadership, the MLA termed the news report as baseless and maintained that Central leaders have assured MLAs camping at New Delhi to initiate steps to change leadership.
