Biswajit for efficient implementation of PMAY (G)

IMPHAL, 5th Sep: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister Thongam Biswajit instructed officials and Deputy Commissioners on Tuesday to implement Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) efficiently in the state by re-verifying the list of beneficiaries included in SECC.

Presiding over the monthly review meeting of the department at the conference hall of new Secretariat, the minister observed that there is the need to re-verify the list of beneficiaries included in SECC for awarding the scheme.

The minister also maintained that the grant for beneficiaries, who have already been verified, should be transferred in the first phase after sanctioning through DBT within the month of September.

He instructed the officials concerned to spread awareness regarding the scheme through Directorate of Information and Public Relations.

He also gave directive for erecting hoardings written in Manipuri language regarding the scheme in details in all districts. The minister also sought report regarding fund utilisation of MGNREGS. Observing that both MGNREGS and PMAY (G) are important flagship programmes of the central government, he urged all officials concerned to release fund in time.

The meeting was attended by officials of RD &PR department and DCs of all districts. Presiding over another monthly review meeting of the Directorate of Information and Public Relation, Biswajit noted the necessity of setting up District Information Offices for the newly created districts.

The meeting also discussed procurement of new vehicles, filling up of vacant posts, enhancement of quality of DIPR diary and calendar and status of the ongoing construction of DIPR building at Keishampat.

During the meeting, DIPR officials appraised the Minister about Press Academy, Press Park and Advertisement Policy. The review meeting of DIPR was also attended by Commissioner (IPR) K Radhakumar, Director (IPR) Meghachandra Kongbam, Deputy Secretary Maibam Kamala, Deputy Secretary Ch Sachi, Deputy Directors Noyon Chongtham, N Krishnakumar, DIOs and APO.
