RCWDAM submits charter of demands to MP Ranjan
IMPHAL, 19th Jul: Representing differently abled persons of the state, a delegation of Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Manipur headed by its vice-president Lenin Hirom has submitted a 10-point charter of demands to Lok Sabha MP (Inner) Dr RK Ranjan at Lok Sabha Secretariat Western Court Annexe Building, New Delhi on Friday. The charter of demands was supposed to be submitted to the union minister concerned but handed over to Dr Ranjan as the parliament session is going on. The MP had communicated with the union minister through telephone before receiving the charter of demands. Demands of differently abled persons of the state include enactment of State Disability Policy; 4 percent reservation for differently abled persons in government jobs as per section 33 of Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016; conduct of special recruitment drive to avoid backlog vacancy for differently abled persons; effective implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes meant for differently abled persons in every government department and distribution of required aid and appliance for differently abled students.
