Probe report against AP Pandey submitted to ministry
IMPHAL, 15th Jul: The enquiry committee constituted to probe charges levelled against former Manipur University vice-chancellor professor Adya Prasad Pandey has submitted its report to the HRD ministry, said union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal. Inner Manipur MP Dr RK Ranjan raised the question over the enquiry report in the Lok Sabha while pointing out that Manipur University is still functioning without a regular vice-chancellor. In response, the minister said that former chief secretary of Manipur Jarnail Singh was appointed as administrator of the university by the High Court of Manipur on October 11 in response to PIL No 49. Consequently, the administrator took the charge of VC and has brought normalcy in the university. On the other hand, the enquiry report on the charges levelled against professor AP Pandey has been submitted to the ministry, he told the House.
