MPSC, KRYPHSA off to strong start
in Women’s League pre-qualifiers

CHRONICLE BUREAU IMPHAL, 20th Aug: Goals galore as MPSC and KRYPHSA romped past their opponents on the first day of the pre-qualifying round of the Indian Women’s League at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.

MPSC proved themselves being one of the strong contenders for qualification with a 7-0 demolition of NYTHC as Ng Bala struck thrice in the goal rush. Bala opened the scoring 10 minutes from kick-off and went on to double the lead three minutes later. NYTHC looked clueless over how to deal with MPSC’s onslaught throughout the game as the latter scored at will. Shakhitombi found their third in the 23rd minute as Pramodini stretched their lead to 4-0 in the space of six minutes. Moments later, Roja made it 5-0 before Bala completed her hat trick in the 39th minute. Then N Kimi rounded off the scoring with a 70th-minute goal. 

KRYPHSA too barely broke a sweat in a 5-0 rout of YWC to start their campaign on a resounding note. D Grace started the goal rush just nine minutes into the first half before Ratanbala doubled the advantage in the 19th minute. D Grace was in action again in the 40th minute to make it
3-0 as Ranjana netted their fourth in the 56th minute before Bindyarani scored their fifth in the 60th minute to close out the game.
