Manipur strike 46 gold on Day 2 of Thang-Ta Federation Cup

IMPHAL, 14th Jun: Manipur’s peerless form was on full display on the second day of the 8th Thang-Ta Federation Cup as the state boys and girls rounded off the day with a huge haul of 55 medals.
46 gold made up the bulk of Friday’s medal collection which included three silver and six bronze. Performances by the state junior boys and girls yielded 24 gold, while the sub-junior teams together notched up 24 top podium finishes.
In the junior boys’ competition, Manipur collected 15 gold in different weight categories courtesy of Ch Rishikanta Singh, Biyash Ningthoujam, S Bikram Singh, K Chetanjit Singh, M Arbin Meitei, L Dravid Singh, Th Malemnganba Luwang, Shapam Pritamjit Singh, Sh Roseland Singh, Y Umakanta Meitei, M Tuljit Khuman, kh Tompok Singh, Dijen Shagolshem, Ch Abash Singh and A Satyajit Singh.
The junior girls also made their mark with nine gold as L Sophiya Devi, H Aleea Chanu, Th Priyangka Chanu, ingalsana Thaoroijam, L Shelly Devi, S Chaoba Devi, Y Dayarani Devi, K Merina Devi and Kh Priyangka Chanu were all winners of their respective contests.
The sub-junior teams, who gave Manipur a strong start to their campaign on Thursday, continued their stellar run with H Priyobarta Luwang, Dhanajit Wangkhem, T Rohit Singh, L Ashamani Meitei, H Ridesh Singh, L Deepak Singh, Ph Bishorjit Meetei, K Khuraingakpam Meitei, L Loveson Singh, S Rabinash Singh, S Nongyai Meitei, L Borish Sharma, Dinesh Khaidem and Y Punachand Singh bagging a gold each in the boys’ group. The girls’ team, on the other hand, churned out a haul of eight gold through H Yaiphabi, L Nibashini Chanu, W Korea Chanu, L Alichia Devi, Chandani Sunar, Th Pushparani Devi, S Malemnganbi Chanu and S Rojika Chanu.
