Robert, Chaoba, Mina strike gold at World Police Games

CHRONICLE BUREAU IMPHAL, 13th Aug: Competitors from Manipur made their mark on Day 7 of the 2017 World Police and Fire Games, scooping eight medals including five gold for India at Los Angeles, California, USA.

In archery, Gurumayum Robert Sharma made the most of the day winning three compound gold - one in men’s individual event and the other two in team competitions. Ishembi Thoudam Devi, meanwhile, bagged two bronze medals in women’s archery. In boxing, Hemam Chaoba Devi and Maisnam Minakumari fetched a goal medal apiece for the country. Hemam Chaoba outpunched Svetlana Marchenkova in their gold medal bout.

Shooter Indrasini Nongthombam also did her bit by claiming silver medal in 500m spinner.
