PM to campaign in state on Apr 7, Amit Apr 5
IMPHAL, 1st Apr: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit the state on April 7 to begin the campaign of BJP in the state for election to the Outer and Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies scheduled to be held on April 11 and 18 respectively. BJP national president Amit Shah would, however, be arriving at Imphal on April 5, two days ahead of the PM’s visit. According to a source, preparations are underway at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound for a public meeting on April 7, wherein PM Modi would be addressing the public at around 3.30 pm. Minister Th Biswajit has been put in-charge of the PM’s visit to the state. PM Modi would then leave for Delhi on the same day. Meanwhile, BJP national president Amit Shah would be arriving at Imphal on April 5 and address a public meeting at Kodompokpi ground in Thoubal, before leaving the state on the day itself. Minister Th Radheshyam has been put in charge of his (Amit Shah) visit, the source conveyed.
