TRAU lose again at home in 2nd Division League

CHRONICLE BUREAU
IMPHAL, 23th Feb: TRAU FC suffered their second successive home game defeat after losing to Chhinga Veng FC in their Group C tie of the 2nd Division League at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium on Saturday.
Two goals in the first half were more than enough for the visitors to seal all three points against the hosts, who were goalless throughout the contest.
The Aizawl (Mizoram) based club took barely six minutes from kickoff to stamp their authority.
It was Thasiama who gave Chhinga Veng an early lead.
And then things got worse for the home team when Lalliansanga extended his team’s lead in the 39th minute.
After the break, TRAU failed to make use of the entire period as the opposition defended well for the victory. With the result, Chhinga Veng FC now sit atop the group table with 10 points from four games, followed by New Barrackpore RAC with nine points from five matches. TRAU FC are in fourth place with six points from four games. They are one point adrift of third-placed ATK (reserves).
