Rock concert, charity events enliven Christmas spirit

KPI, 23rd Dec: A popular band from Churachandpur called The Vision rocked Kangpokpi Saturday evening during the first ever Advent Christmas after attainment of districthood.
The Advent Christmas celebration was organised at SP office Kangpokpi in two sessions.
Kangpokpi SP Mahesh Naraian, Addl SP (Ops) Emmanuel Fimate, DSP Sony Siem Go Sang, all officers-in-charge of Kangpokpi police stations and other police personnel attended the programme.
Christmas message and wish were delivered by SP Kangpokpi and OCs while inspector Lunsat Kuki, OC Saikul PS was presented a memento by SP Kangpokpi on attaining service superannuation.
The evening session was organised mainly for recreational activities and entertainment programme wherein special items, song, talent show were performed and exhibited by police personnel from all police stations of Kangpokpi district.
Live music performance by Churachandpur based band The Vision was the main highlight of the night event.
Meanwhile, GUDUP a non-profit, non-political WhatsApp group from Kangpokpi district reached out to individuals and families in need to enliven the Christmas spirit.
The festive season can be a difficult time of the year for anyone, especially those who are in need while the stress of the season mixed with financial woes can be a lot for anyone to handle. However, 21 ‘Good Samaritans’ from GUDUP enlivened the spirit of the struggling and needy individuals, families and aged people with a Christmas Charity.
Based in Kangpokpi district headquarters, the group members belonging to various professions including government employee, social worker, journalist, sportsperson, etc. had been involved in helping many poor and needy people and other charitable activities to the most deserving people.
In this festive season, GUDUP once again brought a big smile on the faces of poor and needy people with its Christmas Charity by distributing clothes, shoes, etc. to enable them experience the joy of Christmas season.
Earlier, in 2015 Christmas GUDUP had done similar Christmas Charity through voluntary contribution from its members and other generous people of the town who donated for those with genuine needs to show them warmth, love and concern.
