SC dismisses Prof Yugindro’s leave petition
IMPHAL, 13th Nov: The special leave petition filed by former MU vice-chancellor professor K Yugindro in the Supreme Court of India has been dismissed by the apex court Tuesday. Professor K Yugindro had filed the special leave petition after Manipur High Court gave its judgment on PIL No 49/2018 on October 11 last. The ‘special leave of appeal (C)’ filed at the Court was listed as Petition No. 28380- 2018 with Yugindro himself as petitioner and the Union of India and others as respondents. A bench of chief justice Ranjan Gogoi, justice Kishan Kaul and justice KM Joseph heard professor Yugindro’s petition Tuesday and the court, after hearing statements from both sides, decided not to intervene as the special leave petition was an interim order. Accordingly, the apex court ruled that the special leave petition has been dismissed and also made it clear that the court expressed no opinion on the merit of the case.
