NESF Bank opens branch at RIMS Road
IMPHAL, 12th Nov: Deputy chief minister Y Joykumar Monday inaugurated the Lamphel branch of North East Small Finance Bank at Nagamapal, RIMS Road. Speaking as chief guest, Joykumar stressed the need for easy and uninterrupted services to the public while at the same time reducing hurdles in availing loan. Economist Dr Mohendra also spoke on the importance of bank in the development of economy of a society. NESF Bank zonal head Pathak Chandan informed that the first small finance bank of northeast India providing basic saving services in rural area of the eight northeast states got RBI license on March 31, 2017 after being registered as public limited company on July 25, 2016. So far, the bank has opened 160 branches including 81 micro asset centres in eight NE states and West Bengal. It is also planning to open more branches in nine other states, he added.
