Pandey takes legal route to tackle detractors
IMPHAL,5th Sep: Much-hounded vice-chancellor of Manipur University Prof AP Pandey has reportedly filed a Cril case in the High Court of Manipur in connection with the on-going imbroglio in the varsity. In the petition filed through his counsel on Wednesday, Prof Pandey held those campaigning to sack him from the post of vice-chancellorship as well as the Union and state governments responsible for frequent derailment of normal academic atmosphere and activities in the varsity. The petition listed the Union of India, Manipur University through the registrar in-charge Prof Sh Dorendrajit and the government of Manipur as the respondents.
According to a source, the vice-chancellor charged the respondents of constantly bidding to humiliate him, creating hurdles in judicious discharge of duty, restraining him from executing his official obligation, etc. The Court has fixed Thursday for admission hearing of the petition at Court No 2.
