IPSA asks agitating JNIMS doctors to resume service
IMPHAL,30th Aug: Concerned over sudden suspension of service by senior resident doctors which has caused inconvenience to patients at JNIMS hospital, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has asked the striking doctors to suspend their stir immediately. IPSA also cautioned that striking doctors will be responsible for any untoward incident arising out of the ongoing strike.
Addressing media persons Thursday, IPSA president Joychandra Konthoujam termed as very unfortunate that senior residents of JNIMS suspended service to press the demand for review of service rule to facilitate their promotion. IPSA has been appealing time and again to doctors particularly those serving at JNIMS and RIMS not to launch any stir which could affect treatment of patients, he said, adding that the organisation is pained at seeing condition of the hospital after 77 doctors suspended their services.
He also appealed to the striking doctors to suspend their stir immediately in public interest and look for alternative means of protest. The IPSA president also appealed to state government to look into the grievances of the striking doctors and find measures to resolve the matter amicably.
