IMPHAL, 13th June: Nongmaithem Yubaraj Singh of IEDRA hogged the limelight with four top podium finishes on the fifth day of the 28th All Manipur Shooting Competition on Wednesday.
After clinching the gold in 10 metres men’s individual .177 peep sight air rifle (NR) event with a total of 385 points, Yubaraj pocketed the gold medals in junior, youth and sub-junior categories of the same disciplines at Khuman Lampak Shooting Range.
Labish Oinam and Gurumayum Devjeet Sharma of BSISC respectively secured the silver and bronze medals of the four events.
In 24 mtr junior men centre fire pistol competition, Kongbrailatpam Asish Sharma of IWDRA bagged the gold with a tally of 219 while Jupiter Ashem (182) of JSRIPS finished second.
IWDRA shooters made a clean sweep in women’s 25 mtr sports pistol competition, with Minerva Labuktongbam firing 252 points to claim the gold, followed by Irengbam Reema Devi (251) and Nikita Khulem (248) in second and third positions respectively.
Minerva grabbed her second yellow metal of the day with a tally of 252 points in 25 mtr junior women sports pistol while Nikita Khulem (248) and Thoudam Merisana (237) of IEDRA securing the silver and bronze medals respectively.
Nikita equalled Minerva’s record after she culled identical 357 points in 10 mtr women and junior women’s air pistol competition. The silver and bronze medals in the both the events went to Sylvia Loukrakpam of IEDRA and Greenland Wangjam of BSISC respectively.
Sylvia (353), Greenland (348) and Khulakpam Sultana (340) of IEDRA bagged the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in youth women’s 10 mtr air pistol competition.
In 10 mtr youth men’s air pistol, Andrew Telheiba Leitangthem of BSISC culled 359 points to wrest the gold as Phurailatpa Rahul Sharma (351) of IEDRA and Yumnam Moramba (347) of IWDRA respectively secured the silver and bronze medals.
Naorem Kadajit (368) of IWDRA, Kabib Kather (366) of IEDRA and Joychand Thoidingjam (351) of IEDRA wrested the top three titles in men’s 10 mtr air pistol competition while Phurailatpam Rahul Sharma (351) of IEDRA, Amakcham Yohenba Meitei (350) of IEDRA and Jenish Moirangthem (338) of JSRIPS respectively finished first, second and third in 10 mtr sub-junior air pistol competition.
