ESU, KRYPHSA romp in women’s league

IMPHAL, 25th FEB: KRYPHSA continued their dominance while ESU kick-started their campaign in style on Day 2 of the AMFA Senior Women’s Football league. ESU produced an 11-0 hammering of NYTHC in their campaign opener.

                 Both Prameshwori and Umapati were impressed on the pitch with a hat trick. Kashmina scored a double as Mandakini, Panthoi and Oanjibala got on the scoresheet. Umapati opened the scoring only five minutes from the first whistle and the scoring soon surged in a matter of five minutes. Mandakini doubled the advantage in the 10th minute before Kashmina was on target in the space of two minutes.

               After a brief lull, ESU came out with more intensity as Kashmina made it 4-0 in the 25th minute and Umapati further extended the lead in the 27th minute before Prameshwori scored a brace (39th, 40th) in quick succession. Then Panthoi claimed her side’s 8th goal in the 54th minute. Moments later, both Umapati and Prameshwori grabbed a goal each to complete their hat tricks.

                 Then Ranjibala closed out the game with her 80th-minute goal. KRYPHSA continued their impressive form when they overpowered YWC (L) 11-1 in their second match as Ratanballa and Bindyarani hit a treble each.

                  Ranjana found the opener in the 7th minute before Ratanbala (12th), Dangmei Grace (27th), Chandrajini (28th) and Asharani (40th) upped the pace. In the ensuing minutes, KRYPHSA continued their scoring spree with a double each from Ratanbala and Bindyarani as Dangmei Grace added a goal (her second) to their collection.

                  On Monday (February 27), KRYPHSA will play their third match against MPSC while YWC (L) will take on ESU.
