PDCC serves deadline to bring back hospital to Sagolmang
STAFF REPORTER IMPHAL, 11th Apr: Condemning relocation of Imphal East district hospital from Sagolmang to Kyamgei, Peace and Development Coordinating Committee (PDCC) has demanded the government to bring back the district hospital to Sagolmang within seven days.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Wednesday, PDCC general secretary Thoudam Hemjit said that they have submitted a memorandum containing their demand for bringing back the hospital to Sagolmang.
The committee along with people of Sagolmang and Khundrakpam assembly constituency will launch a series of intense agitations unles the government fulfils the demand, he cautioned.
Elucidating on the decision of the committee over the issue, he said that the committee studied on the matter after the government failed to construct the hospital for several years and found some unresolved matters. Since then, PDCC has been trying to resolve those matters to facilitate early start of the construction work, he said, while adding that the committee will continue to serve the people of the constituency without compromising on anything.
