KSC seal T20 veteran cricket title

CHRONICLE BUREAU IMPHAL, 26th Mar: Stanley smashed a half-century as Kuki Sporting Club (KSC), Lambulane beat Cyclone, Thangmeiband by six runs to claim the 6th T20 Veteran Cricket Tournament title on Monday.
It was Stanley who put on a terrific performance with a gritty knock of 55 off 43 to guide KSC to a decent total of 137 for six after his team chose to bat.
Ninghor also did his part in their innings with a valuable 23 off 16 as Muanpi contributed 13 off 21 and Gogou made seven from three deliveries.
KSC then rode on a disciplined bowling attack to thwart Cyclone’s chase. The Thangmeiband side put in a spirited fight but at the end of the game they were still short of six runs with three wickets to spare. In the innings, Robindro top scored with 33, followed by Tejbanta (22), Sashi (15) and Thoithoi (11). Helpao, man of the match, led the KSC attack with an impressive four-wicket haul from four overs as Lulun and Lelen took one wicket apiece to help their team seal the winners’ trophy.
Earlier, Surjit claimed three wickets for Cyclone. Bikram got two scalps while Binoy and Robindro took a wicket each.
